RoboCupJunior Rescue Maze 2027
A disaster has occurred and it is too dangerous for humans to enter. A fully autonomous robot must explore a maze of 28 cm x 28 cm tiles to find victims and drop rescue kits next to harmed and stable victims. Victims are smiley faces or cognitive targets on the walls. On the way the robot must avoid black tiles (holes), pass blue tiles (puddles), ramps, stairs and speed bumps, and may enter a harder Dangerous Zone marked by a red tile. Silver tiles are checkpoints, and the robot earns an exit bonus for returning to the start tile. Each game is 8 minutes.
What's new in 2027:
• Letter victims are replaced by smiley face victims: sad = harmed, neutral = stable, happy = unharmed.
• A tile is now 28 cm x 28 cm and walls are at least 12.5 cm high.
• Rescue kits must be at least 1.5 cm in each dimension, and the 8 rescue kit limit is removed.
• For the exit bonus, the robot must stay still on the start tile with its Identification Light on for at least 5 seconds (anywhere else counts as a misidentification).
